Gabe Davis went big for his team in Week 2.
In both a physical and metaphorical way.
The Bills defeated the Raiders 38-10 for their first win of the 2023 season. Davis had six catches for 92 yards. The most impressive of the bunch was his touchdown catch.
On the play, it was fourth down and quarterback Josh Allen was scrambling to create some extra time. On a toss to Davis, the wideout high pointed the ball and came down with it for the score.
After the win, when quarterback Josh Allen reflected on the contest, the first thing he mentioned was the efforts from his teammates… and of them all, Davis was the first to be mentioned.
“You talk about Gabe Davis on fourth down, after that really long drive, catching a contested touchdown,” Allen said via video conference.
That extra effort was just… business as usual for Davis.
After a surprising season-opening loss to the New York Jets, Davis said he didn’t listen to much of anything being said. There was no extra motivation from that because Davis said, quite frankly, he didn’t hear any of it.
“I really didn’t see that much,” Davis said. “It’s all a bunch of bull crap.”
