No Tre’Davious White to start the season for the Buffalo Bills.
The team’s lockdown cornerback landed on the Reserve/PUP list to begin the 2022 NFL season.
At one point in time, the Bills teased a possibility that he could return sooner. Instead, he’ll be at least out four games.
Buffalo general manager Brandon Beane said the decision was simple in the end. The GM noted there was “not really a great chance” he could play in any of the first four games.
“Tre’s in a good spot,” Beane said via video conference. “It’s a long season, I think he’ll still play in a considerable amount of games.”
Having first said that, Beane later added he’s not guaranteeing a Week 5 return for White. That’s the earliest he could get back out on the field according to PUP rules.
Regardless, if White returns the first half of the season at all, that’s a very fast recovery time. A torn ACL injury came take upwards of a year to heal on occasion.
White suffered it on Thanksgiving in 2021.
