Bills at Patriots: 5 matchups to watch

The Buffalo Bills are playoff bound and can make a run at the AFC East if they can beat the dreaded New England Patriots.

Devin Singletary vs. Dont’a Hightower

The rookie Devin Singletary is one of the more underrated rookies this season, but he’s putting up some excellent stats. The rookie has 729 rushing yards, on 137 carries, which is an average of 5.3 yards per carry, he’s also ran for two touchdowns. Singletary has made an impact with his dynamic running style. His interesting frame makes him tough to bring down because he’s deceivingly agile, and deceivingly strong.

He’s not only a dynamic runner, he’s also an above average pass catcher. He currently has 40 catches, 192 receiving yards, and two receiving touchdowns. He has a total of 984 yards from scrimmage this season, and is looking to continue his hot form into Foxborough.

On Saturday, he’ll be facing Pro Bowl linebacker Dont’a Hightower. The linebacker isn’t a tackle machine, he has just 60 on the season. He is the leader of the Patriots defense though, which is one of the best in the NFL. Hightower is also an efficient pass rusher, sacking the quarterback four times this season.  This may require Singletary to stay and pass block more than normal.
