Bills are signing Stefon Diggs to 4-year, $104 million extension

The Bills are giving Stefon Diggs a $104 million extension that includes $70 million guaranteed

The Buffalo Bills are ensuring that Stefon Diggs doesn’t become a free agent anytime soon. Despite having two years left on his current deal, the Bills are keeping him under contract for four more years.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Diggs has agreed to a four-year, $104 million extension with Buffalo. The contract includes $70 million guaranteed and ties Diggs to the Bills for six more years and a total of $124.1 million.

Diggs goes from making $14.4 million per year to averaging $26 million per year on his new contract, which would make him the fourth-highest paid receiver in football. Combined with his current deal, Diggs is making about $20.7 million per year, which is still fourth-most among receivers.

Diggs has been a Pro Bowler in each of his two years with the Bills, earning a first-team All-Pro selection in 2020. That year, he led the NFL with 127 catches and 1,535 yards, scoring eight touchdowns in his first season with Buffalo.

Last year, he hauled in 103 passes for 1,225 yards and 10 touchdowns, his fourth consecutive 1,000-yard season dating back to his time in Minnesota.

Originally a fifth-round pick of the Vikings in 2015, Diggs has far exceeded expectations in the NFL and become one of the best receivers. Still just 28 years old, Diggs has plenty of time to continue putting up big numbers with the Bills.
