Bills activate LB Matt Milano ahead of 49ers meeting on Monday

LB Matt Milano activated off injured reserve by Buffalo Bills ahead of Week 13 Monday Night Football.

The Buffalo Bills will have the services of linebacker Matt Milano against the San Francisco 49ers. The team announced that Milano was activated off the team’s injured reserve list on Monday, just hours prior to kickoff for the Week 13 showdown.

The Bills designated Milano to return from IR last week, but it had been unknown if he would play vs. the Niners. Linebacker Tyrel Dodson and wide receiver Isaiah Hodgins were also recently designated to return, but those two still remain on the team’s IR at this time.

It’s unclear how big of a role Milano will have against the 49ers. After initially suffering the pectoral injury, Milano was playing on a “pitch count” of sorts, along with AJ Klein. Milano, when healthy, would typically play every defensive snap for the Bills.

After playing in a limited role in Weeks 7 and 8, Milano was placed on the team’s IR instead of playing through the injury. If Milano is fully fit, he could be inserted back into that starting role, however, Klein has played well as of late. He earned AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors just last week, so the Bills still might want to get both players on the field.

Milano only has played in one full game for the Bills this season in which he’s played every snap.
