Big Ten football power rankings after Week 4 of conference play

We’re getting ready to head into another weekend of Big Ten football, but first, we have our up to date power rankings after week four.

Teams trying to stay out of the cellar

14. Penn State (0-4) – last week (13)

I really can’t believe this program can’t win a game with the talent on the roster. Something is amiss with what’s going on this season under James Franklin. Either the motivation isn’t there in a bizarre season, or “We were” should be the new rallying cry.

13. Illinois (1-3) – last week (14)

A win, is a win, is a win when the name of your football team is Illinois. So yeah, there’s that in Champaign. We’re not impressed yet though, not even as impressed as we were with the beard Lovie Smith decided to shave off.

12. Rutgers (1-2) – last week (8)

It looks like Greg Schiano’s team ran out of wood to chop against Illinois. Still, this team is much, much better than the last couple of years.

11. Minnesota (1-3) – last week (12)

After finally getting a win, the Gophers ran aground while rowing what was left of the boat P.J. Fleck still has in the water. This looks like a rebuilding year in Minneapolis.
