Big 12 Roundup Week 6: West Virginia bounces back to defeat Kansas

Only one Big 12 game kicked off in Week 6. Although Kansas got off to a fast start, West Virginia was able to escape with a 38-17 win.

Oklahoma State and Baylor were schedule to play on Oct. 17, but a spoke of COVID-19 positive tests once again paused all football related activities in Waco. This particular meeting has now been rescheduled for Dec. 12.

According to Sports Illustrated, Baylor is very close to returning to organized team activities prior to facing Texas on Oct. 24 in Austin. Although there’s only one game to recap in Week 6, there is expected to be a full slate of Big 12 games in Week 7.

After Kansas took an early 10-0 lead on West Virginia, the Mountaineers responded with two-straight touchdowns and never looked back. Kansas is still searching for their first win of the season, while West Virginia now sits with a 3-1 overall record.

Iowa State and Kansas State remain in control atop the Big 12 title race. Neither program has suffered a conference loss yet, but they each have one nonconference loss under their belt.

Oklahoma State has an undefeated 3-0 record, but they’ve yet to play the most talented teams in the conference. In ESPN’s latest Big 12 rankings, Texas is only listed ahead of Texas Tech and Kansas.
