Terry Joseph to join Steve Sarkisian’s staff from Notre Dame

The coaching carousel continues in Austin under Steve Sarkisian. Notre Dame’s defensive passing game coordinator will be coming to Texas per Football Scoop. His role within the program has not yet been determined.

Multiple sources tell FootballScoop Friday night that Joseph has accepted and begun telling people that he will join Sarkisian’s inaugural Longhorns staff.

Joseph had been considered an in-house candidate for the Notre Dame defensive coordinator job, along with fellow veteran Irish assistant and defensive line coach Mike Elston, who has emerged as a candidate for the vacant defensive coordinator job at Purdue.

Former Oklahoma player backs out of Auburn transfer

Former Oklahoma tight end Grant Calcaterra medically retired during the 2019 season due to head injuries. He decided to come back for the 2021 season by committing to Auburn. After head coach Gus Malzhan was fired, Calcaterra backed out of his commitment and will be looking for a new home.
