Big 12 Football: Ranking the 10 starting running backs

This season, some of the best running backs in the country reside in the conference. Here are each team’s starting running backs ranked.

No. 6 – Zach Evans, TCU

After a wild ride of a recruitment, Zach Evans is expected to be a key contributor to the TCU offense in 2020. Rated a five-star running back, Evans was the second-ranked player at the position in the latest recruitment cycle.

TCU’s highest-ever rated player by 247Sports, Evans can do it all. Speed, agility, toughness, and power are all apart of his game. With the potential to become one of the top running backs in the Big 12, Evans will have success in Fort Worth if he can stay out of trouble.

No. 5- Breece Hall, Iowa State

The youngest returning starter in the conference, Breece Hall broke out during the second half of the season. Not get significant carries during the first four games of the season, the freshman had a big day against Texas, going for 100 yards.

While Iowa State’s passing game will be the primary focus with quarterback Brock Purdy, head coach Matt Campbell has a reliable running back. If the second half of the 2020 season was an indication of what is to come from Hall, the Cyclones will have a top back for the next two to three years.
