Front Seven Defenders
Under new defensive coordinator Chris Ash, a pair of front seven defenders should thrive for the Texas defense. Joseph Ossai led the team in tackles and sacks a season ago. His new role as the ‘Jack’ should only increase his production in 2020. In a similar role against Utah, Ossai dominated the game and earned Alamo Bowl Defensive MVP honors. He could bring the Longhorns their first 10-sack season since Alex Okafor left for the NFL.
On the other side you have defensive end Ta’Quon Graham who could create havoc with so much attention going to Ossai. He only recorded 3.5 sacks last season but he showed what he was capable of with 26.5 sacks in high school. In a new scheme, watch for Graham to have a much bigger impact on the defense in 2020.
