Bianca Belair is rightfully proud of her current run as WWE Raw Women’s Champion, and she’d like to regain the SmackDown Women’s Championship someday too. She just doesn’t see a need to have both titles at the same time.
Matthew Aguilar of ComicBook.com recently asked Belair her thoughts on combining the two main women’s titles in the context of a new update to the WWE SuperCard mobile game, which allows for Undisputed Champions — like Roman Reigns, who currently holds both the WWE and Universal Championships.
While confirming that she would “love to eventually go back to that and have a longer title reign” with the SmackDown title, Belair said she preferred having the Raw and SmackDown belts separate because it allowed more wrestlers to pursue them.
“With combining both of them, I like focusing on one,” Belair said. “You can have more goals, and there are more options on the table, and also too, it gives multiple women on the roster opportunities, and more women can shine — and there’s more spotlight for everyone.”
WWE has had an undisputed women’s champ with the current titles prior to Reigns winning both main men’s titles. Becky Lynch emerged from WrestleMania 35 with both the Raw and SmackDown title, memorably nicknaming herself “Becky 2 Belts” afterward. But her time with that moniker proved to be short lived, as she dropped the SmackDown Women’s Championship to Charlotte Flair just a month later.
Reigns, of course, has been undisputed champ on the men’s side much longer. And while there’s been some chatter about WWE trying to find a way to move one of his title to someone else, he seems likely to head to WrestleMania 39 still in control of the two primary championships.
In contrast, Belair appears just fine concentrating on the one she has, and has her hands full in the short term regardless. Belair will team with Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Mia Yim and a fifth wrestler yet to be revealed to take on Damage CTRL, Nikki Cross and Rhea Ripley in a WarGames match at Survivor Series WarGames on Saturday, Nov. 26.
