On Wednesday the Texas Longhorns introduced the next head coach of the baseball program, Jim Schlossnagle.
Just two days removed from his final game in the College World Series, Schloss left the Texas A&M Aggies after three seasons to join the state’s flagship university and lead the program. The Longhorns have a rich history of excellence in the sport with six national championships, six more runner-up finishes, and 38 College World Series appearances. Of those 38 appearances, 11 have come since 2000.
Schloss led the Aggies to the second College World Series appearance in three seasons in College Station. This past season was their best with a runner-up finish to the Tennessee Volunteers.
Now the focus shifts to returning the Longhorns to the top of the baseball world after a two-year hiatus from Omaha. It begins with Texas and new head coach Jim Schlossnagle building the roster.
