Bengals get unexpected steal at 28th pick in new mock draft

A late-entry mock draft has an outlandish result for the Bengals.

The NFL draft begins today, so there’s one final chance to look at some Cincinnati Bengals mock drafts.

This mock done on the Bengals official website had Cincinnati taking OL Peter Skoronski out of Northwestern.

Geoff Hobson of the team’s official website says that this isn’t going to happen, and it is extremely unlikely given the talent that Skoronski has shown:

Skoronski looks for all the world to be one of those legit guys. So if not him (or any other first-rounder), the hope is that someone who is in their top 28 on their board is going to be there. And then, they hope the player matches up with a premium position to match the value of the pick.

In almost every mock draft, Skoronski is going in the early first, where he likely will end up when the draft comes around tonight.

But if he did fall to the Bengals at the 28th overall pick, it would be the obvious choice for Cincinnati.
