Bears OLB Khalil Mack, KR Cordarrelle Patterson named to Pro Bowl

The Bears have two players that made the 2021 Pro Bowl roster for the NFC in Khalil Mack and Cordarrelle Patterson.

Two Chicago Bears familiar with Pro Bowl honors are going back (figuratively) once again.

Outside linebacker Khalil Mack and kick returner Cordarrelle Patterson have been voted to this year’s Pro Bowl as part of the NFC team.

While the actual game, which was scheduled to take place January 31, 2021, will not take place due to the COVID-19 pandemic, players were still able to be voted to conference rosters. Players were selected based on voting from fans, players, and coaches.

Mack is making his sixth Pro Bowl team in a row and his third with the Bears since coming over in a trade from the Las Vegas Raiders in 2018. The star pass rusher has eight total sacks on the year, including three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and an interception. Mack was voted as one of the starting outside linebackers, alongside Green Bay Packers linebacker Za’Darius Smith.

Patterson, meanwhile, was named to the Pro Bowl for the second consecutive season and fourth time overall. The electric kickoff returner currently leads the league with 32 total returns and is averaging a league-best 29.4 yards per return. He has one touchdown on the season as well. The veteran also was voted in 2013 and 2016 when he was a member of the Minnesota Vikings.
