11 Alabama players named to NFL Pro Bowl rosters

Alabama is well represented in the NFL Pro Bowl

Alabama football is known for winning championships and producing star talent at the next level. There’s no better way to display how successful the former Crimson Tide players are in the NFL than seeing how many made the annual Pro Bowl.

This year, the NFL is not hosting a Pro Bowl game, but will instead host numerous small games in hopes of improving fan viewership.

In total, 11 former Alabama players were selected to both the AFC and NFC rosters. With both the offense and defense represented, there aren’t too many surprises. However, the absence of one player, in particular, is the cause for much debate.

6 Chargers named to 2022 Pro Bowl, 5 others named alternates

The Chargers are well-represented.

The votes are in and there were six players from the Chargers named to the 2022 Pro Bowl.

Justin Herbert, Joey Bosa, Keenan Allen, Rashawn Slater, Corey Linsley, and Derwin James received the honor on Wednesday.

Herbert was named the AFC starter.

In addition, five others were named to alternates: Austin Ekeler (second alternate), Mike Williams (third), Jared Cook (fourth), Gabe Nabers (fourth), and Linval Joseph (fifth).

A total of 80 players were named to the AFC and NFC Pro Bowl teams, with rosters determined by the consensus of votes of fans, players, and coaches.

The game will be played at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Feb. 6.

Bears OLB Khalil Mack, KR Cordarrelle Patterson named to Pro Bowl

The Bears have two players that made the 2021 Pro Bowl roster for the NFC in Khalil Mack and Cordarrelle Patterson.

Two Chicago Bears familiar with Pro Bowl honors are going back (figuratively) once again.

Outside linebacker Khalil Mack and kick returner Cordarrelle Patterson have been voted to this year’s Pro Bowl as part of the NFC team.

While the actual game, which was scheduled to take place January 31, 2021, will not take place due to the COVID-19 pandemic, players were still able to be voted to conference rosters. Players were selected based on voting from fans, players, and coaches.

Mack is making his sixth Pro Bowl team in a row and his third with the Bears since coming over in a trade from the Las Vegas Raiders in 2018. The star pass rusher has eight total sacks on the year, including three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and an interception. Mack was voted as one of the starting outside linebackers, alongside Green Bay Packers linebacker Za’Darius Smith.

Patterson, meanwhile, was named to the Pro Bowl for the second consecutive season and fourth time overall. The electric kickoff returner currently leads the league with 32 total returns and is averaging a league-best 29.4 yards per return. He has one touchdown on the season as well. The veteran also was voted in 2013 and 2016 when he was a member of the Minnesota Vikings.
