Baylor trending for former Texas WR commit Armani Winfield

Two crystal ball predictions for Winfield were entered in favor of Baylor on Tuesday.

Four-star wide receiver Armani Winfield was the first player that Steve Sarkisian landed once he took over as the head coach at Texas.

Winfield reportedly decided to choose Texas in the middle of the national championship game, where Sarkisian’s creative playcalling caught the eyes of many. However, he is also notoriously known for decommitting from Texas in the middle of their season finale against Kansas State.

Michigan State emerged as the sudden favorite to land Winfield once he re-opened his recruitment, but there were still discussions going on behind the scenes with the Texas staff.

After taking an official visit to Baylor on Dec. 10, it appears the Bears have emerged as the favorite to land the Lewisville native. Two 247Sports crystal ball predictions were entered for Winfield on Tuesday in favor of Baylor.

Winfield is rated the No. 26 wide receiver in the 2022 recruiting class and the No. 31 overall prospect in the state of Texas, according to 247Sports composite.

He hauled in 66 receptions for 1,006 yards and eight touchdowns as a senior for Lewisville High School.
