The Baltimore Orioles (29-18) and Chicago White Sox (15-35) open a 4-game series Thursday. First pitch from Guaranteed Rate Field is scheduled for 7:40 p.m. ET (MLB Network). Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Orioles vs. White Sox odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: First meeting; Orioles won 4-2 last season

The sweepless series streak finally ended at 106 for Baltimore Wednesday, a feat that stands as an AL record. After getting doubled up 6-3 by the St. Louis Cardinals Monday, the O’s fell in both Tuesday’s rain-suspended game 3-1, as well as the regularly scheduled Wednesday matchup 5-4.

The White Sox have lost 5 of their last 6 and were swept at the New York Yankees over the weekend. Chicago dropped 2 of 3 at the Toronto Blue Jays and failed to cash as a (+210) road underdog in a 9-2 setback Wednesday. CF Tommy Pham clubbed his 3rd HR of the season, and the 36-year-old’s .356 OBP leads the team.

Orioles at White Sox picks and predictions

Prediction

Orioles 5, White Sox 4

Moneyline

PASS.

This is way too much juice to lay on Baltimore (-230) on its own, especially coming off a 3-game losing streak.

Run line/Against the spread

BACK CHICAGO +1.5 (+114).

Clevinger told reporters Friday he felt strong at Yankee Stadium before he “hit a little wall in the 4th again.” The 33-year-old, who re-signed in early April, should be built up enough by this point to be able to battle through this tough Orioles lineup.

The White Sox have a couple of veteran bats that are capable of delivering, which include Pham and SS Paul Dejong, who went 4 for 10 with a HR and 3 RBIs vs. Toronto. Plus, closer RHP Michael Kopech has not allowed a hit in 3 straight outings, so the flamethrower could certainly be tasked with keeping the game close.

Over/Under

BET OVER 8.5 (+100).

Among 190 starting pitchers with at least 10 IP, Clevinger has induced the 3rd-most hard contact (46.2 hard %), and now he gets to face an Orioles team that trails only the Yankees in HRs hit (69).

Additionally, the White Sox pen overall leads the AL in walks administered (96). If there is traffic on the basepaths in the mid-to-late innings for Baltimore, its heavy hitters, including SS Gunnar Henderson, RF Anthony Santander, C Adley Rutschman and 3B Jordan Westburg, should be able to drive in runs.
