College Sports Wire released their top 25 college football running back rankings for the 2023 season, listing Wisconsin Badger back Braelon Allen near the top of their list. Patrick Conn had the the Fond Du Lac native listed fifth overall in the nation in his first season under head coach Luke Fickell.
Coming off of the first two seasons of his collegiate career where he produced 2,510 rushing yards and 33 rushing touchdowns total, Allen enters 2023 under a new offensive scheme. Offensive coordinator Phil Longo and his “Air Raid” offense have come to Madison from Chapel Hill and it figures to open up the run game for Wisconsin.
In addition to being the fifth ranked running back overall, only Michigan’s Blake Corum (1st overall) was ranked higher than Allen heading into the upcoming college football season.
