Auburn vs. Samford: Game preview, broadcast guide for Tuesday’s game in Hoover

If you want to watch the Tigers play Samford on Tuesday, you will need to drive to the Hoover Met.

The Auburn Tigers are looking to continue their recent streak of good fortune on Tuesday night when they travel to the Hoover Met to face the Samford Bulldogs.

Auburn has won two series in a row against college baseball’s top teams, No. 7 South Carolina and No. 2 LSU. Before paying a visit to Oxford this weekend, the Tigers will look to tune up their game against an in-state foe.

Tuesday’s game will be the second meeting between the Tigers and Bulldogs. Auburn won the initial meeting, 13-3 in eight innings at Plainsman Park on April 18 behind a 14-hit effort from the Auburn lineup. The top four Auburn batters in the lineup all recorded multiple hits, with the top three batters all tallying three hits each.

“I would expect (Samford’s) best tomorrow night,” head coach Butch Thompson said Monday. “Playing at the Hoover Met, hopefully somewhere we can play good enough to get back and be a part of the SEC Tournament, that’s the sincere goal.”
