Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze proposes an interesting change for spring football

Thoughts?

For all schools across the country, including [autotag]Notre Dame[/autotag], their spring game is a glorified practice for fans who can’t normally can’t make it to one during the regular season.

As fun as it is to watch the Blue & Gold Game, it’s not quite the football that we have come to love. Auburn head coach [autotag]Hugh Freeze[/autotag] recently offered up a solution: “allow us to scrimmage someone on A-Day.”

Personally, I love this idea, it makes plenty of sense. Freeze goes on to also suggest that there’s a charitable donation involved as well. His rationale is actually pretty solid, as he says that the NFL and high school football teams do it, so why not colleges?

Protection of players comes into play as well, and Freeze says there would be a 50% reduction risk of injuries along with quarterbacks wearing no-hit jerseys.

Take a listen for yourself as Freeze goes over his idea, which would make the offseason seem that much shorter and help the game in multiple aspects.
