Auburn was a finalist for four-star edge rusher [autotag]Jamonta Waller[/autotag] back in June when he committed to the Florida Gators and they never stopped recruiting the talented pass rusher after missing out.
That decision paid off on Saturday when he announced he was flipping his commitment from the Gators to the Tigers on social media.
While Auburn never stopped recruiting Waller, they made their move during the season after he visited the Plains to watch them play Georgia and Ole Miss. The visits allowed him to see just how [autotag] Ron Roberts[/autotag] would use him in his defense, where he projects to play the jack position and rush the passer.
Waller is the No. 75 overall player and the No. 6 edge in the 247Sports composite ranking. The Picuyuna product is also the No. 2 player from Mississippi.
He becomes Auburn’s third-highest-ranked commit, behind only five-star prospects [autotag]Perry Thompson[/autotag] and [autotag]Demarcus Riddick[/autotag]. He is Auburn’s second commit at edge, joining four-star [autotag]TJ Lindsey[/autotag].
