Arch Manning leads Newman to playoffs following 48-12 win in regular season finale

Arch Manning leads Newman High School to Division III playoffs in New Orleans.

Arch Manning, the nephew of former NFL quarterbacks Peyton and Eli, led Newman High School to a 48-12 win over South Plaquemines last Friday. With the victory, Newman finished the regular season with a 6-2 record in New Orleans.

Arch’s unofficial stats from the victory: 11-of-15 through the air for 157 yards with two touchdown passes and one score on the ground.

“I thought Arch played extremely well,” Newman coach Nelson Stewart said after the game, according to Nola.com’s Josh Preston. “We were able to throw the ball vertically and I thought there was good ball distribution there…our tempo was good, Arch extended some plays and our defense [created] some turnovers.”

Newman will now head to the Division III quarterfinals after a bye week. As the No. 5 seed, Newman is set to go on the road to face the No. 4 Episcopal-Baton Rouge in the playoffs, according to Nola.com.

Arch is considered one of the top high school quarterbacks in the nation. He flew to Denver over the summer to work with his uncle, Peyton. Arch is now drawing serious interest from some of the top college football programs in the country.
