AP Poll: Texas drops one spot, Big Ten and Pac-12 join mix

Despite winning against Texas Tech, Texas dropped one spot to No. 9 in the AP poll. Big Ten and Pac-12 teams feature for the first time.

Despite picking up a win against Texas Tech on Saturday, Texas dropped one spot to No. 9 in the AP poll. With the addition of Big Ten teams into the poll, Ohio State seemingly caused the Longhorns’ fall in the poll.

Two other Big 12 teams, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, are also featured in the AP poll. For the first time since Nov. 15, 2015, the Cowboys are ahead of the Sooners. Oklahoma dropped 15 spots after losing to Kansas State at home. Oklahoma State dropped two spots as well, even after beating West Virginia in Stillwater.
