Pitcher Andrew Behnke makes collegiate debut for Tennessee baseball.

No. 12 Tennessee (23-10, 5-7 SEC) defeated Eastern Kentucky (13-19, 4-8 ASUN), 14-2, Tuesday at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.

The game ended in the seventh inning with a run-rule decision.

True freshman Andrew Behnke, a left-handed pitcher, made his collegiate debut for the Vols. He pitched a scoreless seventh inning and recorded one strikeout.

Behnke totaled 15 pitches, including 12 strikes, against four Eastern Kentucky batters. He allowed one hit and forced two groundouts.

The 5-foot-10, 183-pound Behnke came to Tennessee from Donelson Christian Academy in Nashville, Tennessee. He committed to the Vols on May 20, 2021 over Alabama and Vanderbilt.

His sister, Alex Behnke, is a junior pitcher for Trevecca Nazarene University softball.
