Amon-Ra St. Brown gets some love in the NFL Top 100

Lions wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown gets some love in the NFL Top 100 and earns a ranking in the top 70

We’ve known that the times are changing in Detroit with just the national media attention the Lions have been getting. While the energy around the NFL is different with the team, another indication that times are changing for the team is how the talent on the roster is being recognized.

Just a few days ago, Lions edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson found himself ranked as the 88th-best player in the NFL. While receiving plenty of praise from his peers, there’s an expectation for Hutchinson to take another step forward this season.

Another player expected to continue their ascension in the NFL is wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown. Coming off a career year of 106 receptions for 1,161 yards and six touchdowns, St. Brown was the most consistent player for the Lions last season. He can be trusted in the red zone or on 3rd down. Meanwhile, it’s evident that Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson wants to get the football in his hands with designed screens and jet sweeps.

Much like his teammate Aidan Hutchinson, St. Brown found himself ranked inside the NFL Top 100. For St. Brown, he was ranked as the No. 67 player in the NFL. Here’s what his teammates and other players from around the league had to say about him:

  • “One thing about sweeps and doing these jet-sweeps is that they’re not easy. If you’re not coming with the right speed, then it doesn’t hit the same. That’s what I like about him though. He’s always going fa-sho.” — Saints RB and former teammate Jamaal Williams
  • “Everything you want in a receiver. He’s smart, he’s gritty, he’s got great hands. He runs great routes. He’s a very friendly target for me that gets himself open.” – Lions QB Jared Goff
  • “The guy is a hungry worker. He wants to be great in this league.” — Vikings TE and former teammate T.J. Hockenson
