Alabama takes over recruiting top talent from 2021 class in Florida

Alabama continues to take over the state of Florida for overall football recruiting. Here’s where they stand for the 2021 recruiting class.

Alabama has a unique ability to recruit top football players from all across the country. This is largely due to consistent winning in recent years, having Nick Saban as a head coach and overall brand recognition.

One state that seems to have a special connection with the Crimson Tide is Alabama’s neighbor to the south, Florida.

Some of the program’s top products have been Florida natives. Amari Cooper, Derrick Henry, Jerry Jeudy and more have come out of the Sunshine State.

Alabama’s presence in Florida is so great that they already have verbal commitments from five top-25 recruits in the state, and are projected to land two more before the end of the 2021 recruiting cycle, which would make seven total.

The Crimson Tide blows all Florida programs out of the water. In comparison, the Florida Gators have not yet received a solid commitment from a top-25 in-state recruit, though they have three that show plenty of interest and are expected to sign.

The Florida State Seminoles have one commitment from the state’s top-25 and three other recruits that have shown high levels of interest.

The University of Miami has one commitment from the top-25 and no other in-state recruits have shown interest.

From Florida’s top-25, Alabama has received commitments from:

  • #17 – Christian Leary (WR), Orlando
  • #14 – Agiye Hall (WR), Valrico
  • #9 – Jacorey Brooks (WR), Miami
  • #8 – Dallas Turner (DE), Fort Lauderdale
  • #1 – JC Latham (OT), Bradenton

Two other recruits, according to 247Sports are likely to choose Alabama:

  • #11 – Terrion Arnold (S), Tallahassee
  • #4 – Xavian Sorey (OLB), Graceville
