The Alabama softball team will be losing some of their talented players before next season. Whether it be the transfer portal or a lack of eligibility remaining, the 2022 Crimson Tide softball team will have a different look.

Patrick Murphy has been able to take various squads to the Women’s College World Series in his lengthy career with Alabama. He will soon attempt to top 2021’s loss in the semifinals with a new team, which mostly consists of returning talent.

Today, Alabama softball officially announced two big-time transfers from other high-profile programs. Infielders Ashley Prange of Ohio State and Ally Shipman of Tennessee will be joining the program.

“We are so happy to have these two outstanding young ladies join our program,” Murphy said. “They will provide experience, leadership and extreme passion for the game. Off the field, both Ashley and Ally will carry on the tradition of academic excellence that Alabama softball strives for. Our entire staff is very excited about #Team26.”
