Alabama recruiting: Jake Pope sets commit date

Alabama target Jake Pope set to commit on August 16

The Alabama football recruiting class of 2022 is starting to take form as we head into the college football season. Currently, the Tide sits at third in the 247 Composite Rankings. Nick Saban and staff look to move up as four-star safety Jake Pope is set to make his commitment.

Earlier this afternoon Pope announced via Twitter that he would be making his college decision on Monday, August 16.

Pope is a rising senior from Buford High School in Buford, GA. Pope is an exceptional athlete that could project as either a wide receiver or safety at the next level. Standing at 6-foot-1, 190 pounds, Pope shows great explosiveness and ball skills and just has a knack for making a play on either side of the ball. His excellent athleticism mixed with his natural instincts makes him an intriguing prospect that could see a bump in the rankings after his senior season.
