Analysis: Rising sophomore running back Keilan Robinson was pressed into more action than many thought he would during his first season at Alabama.

With the injury to Trey Sanders and the struggles of Jerome Ford in the opening week against Duke, the opportunity was there for Robinson to seize the third spot on the depth chart.

And sure, a vast majority of the carry distribution amongst the running backs went to Najee Harris and Brian Robinson Jr (80.6%), but the younger Robinson still took advantage of the opportunities that were given to him.

On the season, the former four-star running back rushed the ball 39 times for 254 yards and two touchdowns. His 6.51-yard-per-carry mark actually led all the running backs as well.

It’s tough to imagine Robinson getting more carries in 2020. In fact, his workload could be somewhat diminished, but that doesn’t mean he’s not an effective option if given the opportunity. He’s a talented, change-of-pace runner.
