On Tuesday, Vanderbilt offensive tackle transfer Tyler Steen announced his commitment to Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Steen is massive addition for the Tide at a position group that is lacking depth and experience at the moment. Steen started over 30 games for the Commodores and has a wealth of experience blocking in the SEC.
So what does Steen’s addition mean for the Alabama offensive line? Well, I am glad you asked. I’ll give you a hint, it would be a massive shock if Steen is not starting at either tackle spot when the fall arrives. Right now it looks like JC Latham has the right side secured down, so I would imagine Steen would be competing for the starting spot at left tackle.
In either event, Steen is a massive addition for Alabama and Saban continues to prove that he can own the transfer portal just like he owns the recruiting trail.
That is going to wrap up our Wednesday edition of Alabama Morning Drive. I hope everyone has a safe and happy day.
