Alabama LB Will Anderson issued a comical warning to incoming freshman QB Ty Simpson

Incoming five-star freshman QB Ty Simpson understands his assignment: stay as far away from Anderson as possible.

Will Anderson is arguably (or not) the best EDGE rusher in the nation. Standing at 6-4 and weighing in at 245 pounds, this is not a dude that you want in your face time after time during a scrimmage.

Incoming five-star freshman QB Ty Simpson understands his assignment: stay as far away from Anderson as possible during live reps. He joked during an interview with BamaInsider that he would ask Anderson to take it easy on him as he serves time as the scout-team QB in preparation for the Cotton Bowl matchup against No. 4 Cincinatti.

Anderson heard about these comments and jokingly (maybe?) responded, “I went up to him, I said ‘You don’t have to worry about me hitting you right now, but just know that in the springtime, you gonna see me all the time. I’m gonna always be in your face.”

Tony Tsoukalas, the Alabama beat writer for Rivals, tweeted the encounter.

Needless to say, the young QB is definitely going to have a chance to work on scrambling as he tries to get away from one of college football’s best.
