There has been a lot of uncertainty surrounding college football over the last couple of months, but as of right now, the season still looks like it’s a go for the SEC, ACC and Big 12.
So, what does that mean? It means that we can continue the Countdown to Kickoff en route to the Crimson Tide — and the rest of the SEC — getting things underway on Sept. 26.
With it now being Sept. 21, we are officially 5 days away from the start!
Alabama has two players wearing the No. 5 this season. On defense, it’ll be redshirt sophomore Jalyn Armour-Davis, who is expected to be a valuable depth piece at cornerback for the Crimson Tide.
On offense, it will be true freshman wide receiver Javon Baker out of Powder Springs (Ga.). After a good first fall camp in Tuscaloosa, Baker is poised to make some sort of impact in a depth/rotational role in 2020.
Former Alabama defensive back Shyheim Carter wore the number throughout his career prior to those two players listed above.
