Amid transfer news, coaching departures and NFL draft declarations, news is beginning to break about players who are deciding to actually return for another season at Alabama.
Defensive tackle DJ Dale officially announced that he will not be declaring for the draft and will instead return for one final season in Tuscaloosa.
Dale was roughly expected to be a day-two draft prospect. His abilities have contributed to the defense’s success, but his name rarely ever reaches headlines.
He may not be a household name, but his stats show just how effective of a player he truly is. In three seasons, Dale has 56 tackles, three sacks and two passes blocked.
With Phidarian Mathis going to the NFL, Dale will be seen as a veteran leader on the defensive line.
