Alabama baseball sweeps Xavier in season-opening series

Alabama baseball earned its fourth season-opening sweep in five years under head coach Brad Bohannon.

The Crimson Tide, under head coach Brad Bohannon, was able to complete its fourth sweep in a season-opening series in five years.

On Friday, Alabama’s baseball team was able to defeat the Musketeers with a walk-off home run by outfielder Owen Diodati by a score of 5-4.

On Saturday, the Tide won with an identical score thanks to a four-run second inning to increase their series lead to 2-0.

Sunday afternoon, the Tide completed the three-game sweep in a big 9-4 win propelled by a four-run third inning.

Pitchers Brock Guffey, Hunter Furtado and Grayson Hitt each earned wins in their series debuts, while Guffey also recorded a save in the second game of the series.
