After blowout win over Oklahoma State, Oklahoma is now the heavy favorite to win the Big 12

With Oklahoma’s Bedlam win and Iowa State’s defeat of Kansas State, the Sooners are back in control and all is well in the Big 12

Oklahoma is back in control and all is well in the Big 12. With the Sooners’ 41-13 win over Oklahoma State, Oklahoma moves into a three-way tie for second place alongside Oklahoma State and Texas.

And with Iowa State’s win over Kansas State, the Wildcats now have three conference losses and sit at fifth place in the Big 12. Should the Sooners win out, they are all but guaranteed a spot in the Big 12 championship.

Oklahoma currently leads all teams with a 71 percent chance to make the Big 12 Championship game and a 48 percent chance to repeat (for the sixth-straight season) as Big 12 champions.

Given the shaky start to this season, it’s somewhat incredible to see Oklahoma with a stranglehold on the conference once again with two weeks still remaining. Things are still subject to change, but it would take a very surprising turn of events for Oklahoma to win out and miss the conference championship at this point.
