Washington Redskins’ quarterback and former Ohio State star Dwayne Haskins had a very up and down year during his rookie campaign in the NFL last year. After some unassuming play to start the year as a backup, he finally got the call to be the starter after head coach Jay Gruden was let go. It took a couple few weeks, but he eventually began to show the promise of the No. 15 overall selection the Redskins used on him.
It was still a year of learning, taking lumps, and just trying to get better. This year, he’ll be given every opportunity to be the face of the franchise, and it’ll be up to him to take advantage. So far, we’ve heard about him living in the gym and working hard to hoe his craft during the offseason.
Pictures seem to collaborate with those rumors, as he looks like he’s in incredible shape. Haskins appears to be poised to take advantage of the opportunity in front of him.
But Haskins isn’t the only one that believes in himself. The Redskins’ Adrian Peterson, one of the best to ever play at the running back position, also believes you’ll see a big jump in Haskins’ performance in year two.
According to one of our sister sites, Redskins Wire, when speaking to the media, Peterson said it’ll be “night and day” based on what he’s seen from the former Heisman finalist.

It’ll be up to Haskins now to make the most of the confidence the organization, players, and coaches have put in him and turn into the star we all thought he’d be.
Next year is coming awfully soon to a football field near you and Haskins could be ready to break out. At least, that’s what we hope.
