Just a few days removed from Wisconsin’s Duke’s Mayo Bowl win over Wake Forest, let’s take a way-too-early glimpse at what comes next for the Badgers.
Nothing, even though we are no longer in 2020, is set in stone. Hopefully the 2021 Wisconsin football schedule can stay as is without last-minute cancelations, changing Big Ten rules, and COVID-19 postponements that we saw throughout the country in 2020. Like the original 2020 schedule, the Badgers will open with a Big Ten opponent instead of a non-conference game. Wisconsin begins with Penn State on September 4 in Madison.
If there is any big difference in 2021, let’s hope that it’s fans being safely allowed back into Camp Randall on Saturday’s. The Badgers open with a pair of September home games, and we all want to have a chance to be there in person.
A three-game non-conference slate is highlighted by the Notre Dame clash that Badger fans were looking forward to last year at Lambeau Field before its postponement. This time, the destination is Soldier Field in Chicago for a matchup of two potential top ten teams.
The Big Ten schedule certainly plays in Wisconsin’s favor, as they avoid Ohio State and Indiana from the Big Ten East, while getting their projected tougher opponents at home.
