The Badgers lost out on 2024 cornerback Vernon Woodward as the Florida native has decided to flip to the Illinois Fighting Illini.
Woodward is a three-star recruit per 247Sports, and originally committed to Wisconsin on June 4. Woodward visited Illinois on June 9 shortly after his Badger commitment, and has now flipped to the Fighting Illini.
He announced the decision today on Twitter.
The news comes with yet another Badger layer, as it was former Wisconsin defensive back and current Illinois defensive coordinator who orchestrated the flip. Henry posted about the flip even before Woodward announced the news. Here is a look at all of that action on Twitter:
