The Ohio State football team is destined to lose a few key offensive lineman, whether to the NFL Draft or the transfer portal, and with the way the college landscape is changing, teams have to stay vigilant with who is available.

One player to keep an eye on is Northwestern’s Josh Thompson, who gave a lengthy shoutout to the program on social media while also breaking the news that he’s going to transfer.

There are numerous potential College Football Playoff programs targeting Thompson, and Ohio State, per Eleven Warriors, who cited 247Sports, is among them. The Buckeyes join Michigan, LSU, Auburn, Tennessee and many others.

Thompson concluded the season with a 74.9 Pro Football Focus grade which placed him as a top-ten guard among those in the Big Ten or SEC. He would be a pivotal addition for Ohio State, especially considering he’s set to graduate and can bring many years of experience with him.

Originally form Fenton, Michigan, the Wolverines may have the upper hand in recruiting the 6-foot-5 guard. Thompson ranks as the fourth-best transfer interior offensive line per 247Sports.
