2024 NFL trade deadline: Former Bills first-round pick Tre’Davious White dealt

After spending the first seven years of his NFL career with the Buffalo Bills, cornerback Tre’Davious is now on his second team in 2024.

According to various reports, the Los Angeles Rams have dealt the former first-round pick of the Bills to the Baltimore Ravens.

The Rams also got nearly nothing in return, an exchange for seventh-round draft selections for White:

While a star in Buffalo, White has been anything but that in Los Angeles.

White signed with the Rams earlier this offseason as he was released by the Bills in a salary cap move. Some in Buffalo questioned that, but few have since the start of the 2024 season.

White has undoubtedly struggled in L.A. to start the season. The Rams gave White permission to seek a trade, and despite the Rams getting little in return, Los Angeles shipped him to Baltimore.

White took part in the Rams’ first four games over the year but those went bad. He recorded 12 tackles and two passes defended. However, the 29-year-old allowed nine catches for 151 yards and four touchdowns. He also committed five penalties in coverage.

Over the past four weeks, White has been a healthy scratch which is why he was seeking a trade.

Most believe the reason for White’s struggles stem from his second serious injury he sustained in Buffalo in 2023. White tore his Achilles and it’s difficult for any player to return from such a serious injury.

Most medical professionals believe it takes a player more than a year before they are fully back to 100 percent health when sustaining a serious Achilles injury… and White has fallen under that threshold.

White was placed on injured reserve by the Bills back in October 2023 following his Achilles injury. White previously had torn his ACL in 2021.
