Kansas City Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt picked up where he left off over five years after his success with the franchise. The veteran running back showed the versatility and reliability needed at the position since starter Isiah Pacheco’s injury.

“That was a great feeling to get back in the endzone. I missed it very much,” said Hunt. “That’s why I threw up a heart to show my love to Kansas City,” said Hunt, who finished playing his first home game at Arrowhead Stadium since 2018. “I’m having a blast out there. It’s so much fun. I missed it so much. (Head) Coach (Andy) Reid does a great job of putting us in great situations to be successful.”

The 29-year-old carried the ball 27 times in his first start of the season during the Week 5 victory, tallying 102 yards, and showing little rust or fatigue from the heavy workload without a training camp.

“I feel like I’m going to be alright. We have some time before we get back, so that’s good for me right now,” said Hunt. “I just need to stay working out.”

Hunt appears to have snagged the starting role moving forward, but all the running backs are expected to continue to see time on the field.
