The Georgia Bulldogs came in atop the nation, and the Oregon Ducks were No. 3. Those programs had 46 and 1 first-place votes respectively. Texas and Alabama round out the top five.

As for Big Ten foes, Penn State came in at No. 8 and Michigan at No. 9. Southern Cal and Iowa were also ranked, and Nebraska and Wisconsin also received votes but didn’t crack the top 25.

Ohio State lost many key pieces from last season’s roster as standout wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. was taken with the 4th-overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft. Kyle McCord transferred out.

The coaching staff added Chip Kelly to revamp the offense, one with the top overall recruit, Jeremiah Smith. The superstar receiver is already making waves in Columbus.
