Ohio State wide receiver recruit sets date to announce decision

Will Ohio State land another top receiver? #GoBucks

Could a BOOM be on the horizon for Ohio State? It’s possible as five-star receiver Vernell Brown III has set a decision day for July 21. Brown put the Buckeyes in his top four back in May.

The Florida native is ranked as the No. 6 overall receiver in the country according to 247Sports composite rankings. Joining Ohio State on Brown’s shortlist are Florida, Florida State, and Miami. Will it be tough to pull a Sunshine State kid north? The fact that OSU is the only school listed not in his home state speaks of the recruiting power of Brian Hartline.

Steve Wiltfong placed a crystal ball prediction in favor of the Buckeyes back in March, but recent days have seen a different trend. The three most recent predictions, all within the last month, point toward the Gators earning Brown’s pledge.

At this time, Ohio State has three receivers pledged to join the Scarlet and Gray in 2025. It looks like Hartline is going to have to work some real magic to get Brown to be the fourth.
