It’s hard to put into words what wide receiver Xavier Worthy meant to the University of Texas.
Worthy is an extremely hard worker, a dedicated player, and a warrior on the field. He dealt with many nagging injuries throughout the latter portion of his Texas career and didn’t complain one bit.
From a broken hand in 2022 to an ankle injury in 2023, he still managed to put up 1,000 receiving yards this season. Worthy stayed loyal to the program through tough times and played a crucial role in Texas’ success in 2023.
He was the first recruit that head coach Steve Sarkisian landed when he arrived as the Texas head coach and embodied what it meant to be a Longhorn.
Worthy will be greatly missed on the Forty Acres as he prepares for the 2024 NFL draft. After three seasons in Austin, here is where he ranks among the best wide receivers in Texas Longhorns history.
