Micah Hyde does not envy the Bills defensive line ahead of facing the Eagles.
It all revolves around the infamous “Tush Push” play the Eagles run.
It’s a simple quarterback sneak with Jalen Hurts but teammates help push him over the line for a first down. It’s nearly flawless and exactly why the Eagles are the best team in the NFL on both third and fourth-down conversations.
“That’s on the big boys up front,” Hyde said via video conference. “It kind of turns into rugby but that’s on those big boys up front. I might be behind them, pushing them, trying to give them a boost, but [the Eagles] are good at it.”
Of those big boys up front, the noted one for the Bills is Ed Oliver. He’s having another solid season but even he admits it’s going to be difficult to stop… but he is convinced there could be a way… even if it’s hard for him to even explain a possible way to defend it.
“Hopefully we keep them out of that down and distance so we don’t have to defend it,” Oliver said. “I think there’s a technique to stop it. Nobody just ain’t figured it out yet.”
“It seems had to stop, but I think if you can… I don’t know, s—. Everybody else ain’t been able to stop it, who am I to say you can stop it here?” Oliver added.
