Tennessee will open its 2023-24 season on Nov. 7 versus Florida A&M in Food City Center at Thompson-Bolilng Arena.
Tipoff is slated for 6:30 p.m. EDT and can be watched on SEC Network+.
Tennessee head coach Kellie Harper met with media on Monday and discussed the upcoming season.
“As we look forward to this upcoming season, I love my team,” Harper said. “We’re not perfect, we’ve got a long way to go. I really do enjoy coaching them and really trying to figure out what they’re going to be best at when they step out on the court together. They’re very coachable, they have great team chemistry and that’s both, I think right now, on and off the court. We’ll continue to work on that on-court chemistry as we continue to practice and get into some games. They’ve been a real joy.
“I’m proud of them individually and proud of them as a team and how they really came together this summer and this fall. I think we had some big losses from last season, especially when you pick up the stat sheet. I think right now, that’s where we’re trying to figure out where we’re going to make up some of those losses. My biggest concern at this point is our rebounding. We definitely as a team have to get better in that area. I look forward to working with this group, seeing what we can do.”
