Are the Boston Celtics’ twin blockbusters enough to win a title?

Lineups on paper do not a champion make, after all.

The Boston Celtics made major moves in the NBA’s 2023 offseason by picking up All-Star point guard Jrue Holiday and star big man Kristaps Porzingis. The question on everyone’s mind is how these changes will affect their performance on the league’s biggest stage.

Will Holiday and Porzingis push the Celtics over the top to finally hang Banner 18, or did they take a big gamble uncertain to pay off? The Celtics’ roster includes four All-Stars, and with the addition of Holiday, they have a formidable top six players unmatched in terms of fit and talent on their roster for the 2023-24 season ahead.

But lineups on paper do not a champion make, and this was the focus of a recent episode of the CLNS Media “Celtics Beat” podcast with The Athletic’s Jared Weiss as the guest.

Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear their thoughts on Boston’s big moves and their pursuit of a title.
