It’s always fun to look the NFL and see former Buckeyes doing great things and that is happening right now with CJ Stroud leading the Houston Texans.
Many fans expected the Texans to once again be one of the worst teams in the NFL, but behind newly hired head coach DeMeco Ryans and Stroud’s hot start, they’re sitting at 2-2 with a favorable schedule moving forward.
The former Ohio State and now Houston Texans quarterback is off to a fantastic start to his NFL career. Through four games, Stroud has thrown for 1,212 yards (303 per game), six touchdowns and zero interceptions.
Most analysts and fans expected Stroud to experience rookie growing pains and most rookie quarterbacks do. However, he has silenced doubters as the start to his career hasn’t just surpassed expectations but has been historically good. The numbers illustrate that.
Stroud’s 300 yards per game average with no interceptions through four games is something only five other quarterbacks have ever done. That list includes Peyton Manning (2013), Tom Brady (2015-17), Drew Brees (2018), Patrick Mahomes (2018-19) and Aaron Rodgers (2020).
C.J. Stroud is only the 6th player in NFL history to average 300 pass YDs and have 0 INTs through the first 4 games in a season 🤯

His 1,212 passing yards is second all time for quarterback’s first four games which trails only Cam Newton.
Numbers like those show just how special of a start to his rookie season Stroud is having and it’ll be exciting to see what he can do the rest of this season and beyond.
