Texas’ Jonathon Brooks has been playing spectacular football as of late.
The third-year running back has now rushed for 100 yards in consecutive games with a pair of touchdowns. Brooks has filled in nicely after Bijan Robinson and Roschon Johnson entered the NFL, and has seemingly outplayed every other back on the Texas roster.
In the victory over Baylor, Brooks ran for 106 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 5.9 yards per attempt. Brooks also proved people wrong about his receiving abilities, catching a one-handed pass for 18 yards.

Even though freshman CJ Baxter started the year as RB1, it seems that Brooks has earned the starting job just four weeks into the season. Baxter has had unfortunate injuries but everyone knows the saying: the best ability is availability, and Brooks has patiently waited his turn and performed when his name was called.
