Baldy Breakdown: Giants rookie Jalin Hyatt ‘is a factor’

NFL analyst Brian Baldinger is impressed with New York Giants rookie WR Jalin Hyatt, saying he’s already established himself as a “factor.”

On Sunday, the New York Giants rallied from 21 points down in the third quarter to pull off a stunning upset of the Arizona Cardinals. It was the franchise’s largest comeback victory since 1949.

The rally itself was sparked by a combination of quarterback Daniel Jones and rookie wide receiver Jalin Hyatt, who connected on a 58-yard strike to open the second half.

The pair later connected on a 31-yard pass that helped set up another crucial score.

Retired offensive lineman and current NFL analyst, Brian Baldinger, liked what he saw from Hyatt, saying the rookie will be a “factor” for the Giants this season. He also praised head coach Brian Daboll and offensive coordinator Mike Kafka for making necessary adjustments.

“He’s a factor in the passing game,” Baldinger said of Hyatt.

Baldinger then zeroed in on Jones specifically. He credited the quarterback for not only dropping dimes all over the field but also putting the Giants on his back and carrying them with his legs.

“He was so valuable,” Baldinger said of Jones. “(He) threw the ball great in the second half and ran it just as well.”

It was a staple performance for Jones and a bit of a coming-out party for Hyatt. The Giants hope to see a lot more from each in the coming weeks and throughout the season.
